Building on the sloe gin tradition, but with a Chinese edge to it, comes Peddler's Barrel Aged Salted Plum Gin. Inspired by a historical Suan Mei Tang recipe, the team behind Peddlers infuse their original award-winning gin with Suan Mei botanicals (Salted plums, mulberries, hawthorn and osmanthus) for 3 months, before ageing it for a further month in Olorosso Sherry Casks for rounded notes of Vanilla and oak with a dry finish.
Palate: Top notes of salted plum, dates and mulberry give richness to the underlying juniper notes. Notes of hawthorn, liquorice and citrus then come in, adding a complex depth to the gin that evens out with dry sherry notes to finish.
Recommended in Highballs as a Sloe Gin Soda, in Spritzes or in Negronis.
